I've Accepted Yeshua -- Now What?

by Chaia Kravitz

Accepting Yeshua is one of the most, if not THE most, important decision a person can make. If you have accepted Yeshua, but don't know where to go from here, please read this list of steps towards growing in your faith.

Congratulations on taking that step of faith to accept Yeshua. Your name has been written in the Book of Life, your sins are forgiven and you have eternal life.

Perhaps you are feeling a lot of emotions right now. Joy, confusion, excitement . . . it's normal. This is one of the most important decisions you will ever make in your life and it is not something to be taken lightly. After all, you have been born again in the Spirit. Change is inevitable, both on the inside and outside.

Here is a list of suggestions for your next steps as a Messianic Believer. Act upon them at your own pace, with a lot of prayer.

  • Find a Messianic congregation near you and attend services and/or Bible studies on a regular basis. You need to meet other Believers to disciple you, to help you grow in your faith. Other Believers will give you accountability and support.

  • If there is no Messianic congregation near you, find a Bible-centered church. Ask what the Senior Pastor's view of Israel and Jewish roots are. Make an appointment and speak to him. Most evangelical churches (Pentecostal, Alliance, Assemblies of God, Baptist) are very welcoming towards Jewish people.

  • Immerse yourself in the Word. Set aside a time each day to read from the Bible. God's Word helps keep us on track.

  • Pray daily. Pray in the morning. Pray in the evening. Pary before you go to bed. Pray before meals. Pray, pray, pray. Prayer is our most direct way of speaking to God -- and He does listen!

  • Read good Messianic books. Some Christian bookstores will carry books about Jewish Roots and the Feasts of the Lord. Your local Messianic congregation may have a library or sell books. You can also find and buy many excellent Messianic titles online.

  • Share your faith -- tell your friends and family. Pray first, and tell them, one person at a time, according to His timing. Remember, not all of your family and friends will be as enthusiastic as you, so do not let their shock or disapproval discourage you.

Have you been thinking about whether Yeshua is the Messiah, but have not yet accepted Him? Would you like to now? If you have decided to accept God's free gift of salvation, all you have to do is say a simple prayer like this:

Dear LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, I confess that I have lived a life that is imperfect. I would like to accept Yeshua as my Messiah and Savior. Thank you for sending Yeshua to atone for my sins. Amen.
