A Lament For Israel
by Anonymous
The
Jerusalem Post has criticized Christians for not speaking up and
standing with Israel during the current crisis there. This is a poem by
a Christian with a heart for Israel, in response. A Lament for Israel I watch as the UN condems Israel as being racist, and wonder how this could be? Didn't the world learn its lesson in Germany, when they slaughtered one Jew in three? And as all this goes on, the Jerusalem Post mocks, as Christians do not speak out. When I believe that they would have us cry out against with a shout. I understand their position against us, but it makes me truely irate, For there are those who know the truth, And would not leave Israel to its fate. But we are few in number and our voices cry out in the dark, Drowned by a sea of liberalism and lies, They see us as nothing but a lark. They say, "God is finished with Israel. She is deserving what she gets, By assaulting those 'poor Palestinians;' The lies have been well set. No talk is made about Arafat's use, Of children for the propaganda war. No complaints are made about Muslim children with guns, Only Israel is evil galore! But the Post makes a point: where is the Church In this whole scary mess? Have they made a formal statement of support, Of Israel in the "Peace Process?" Where are our illustrious leaders, Who scream for human rights? Why do they not take a stand, For God's people in this fight? Do I see courage from among them, standing against the politically correct tide? To Israel's assistance they go, and stand by God's Chosen's side? Oh no, I do not see courage, or theological truth, From the masses as they rush to the fore. All they seem to care about is the Monday Night Football score! "God will not use Israel," they say, "They are forever trapped in sinfull mire." Yet by rejecting Godıs promises to them, These paragons of virtue call God a liar! "What? God restore Israel? That will never be their fate! Such debates should have ended, in May of 1948." I lament for Israel in her suffering, as the Church walks with blinders on. No longer salt in the world, The light has truly gone. Lost in Laodicean lukewarmess; A sea of decadent apathy. You suggest to return to holiness, They reply, "Go climb a tree!" So I say to Israel, yes you are not alone, Even if many will not budge. They will have to face Jesus when He returns, And explain when He starts to judge. About how they stood by and watched, As the blood of your chosen was spilled; When evil was declaired to be good, And righteousness flipped on a tilt. About how the Church decided to be politically correct; All lessons from Scripture and history lost. Laying the seedbed in the Middle East, For a Second Holocaust. Look at the results of what you have done, More bullets and armored jackboots shod. I hope you are proud of yourselves, Oh ye people of God! Written by a "really ticked-off Born Again Christian."
